A heads up for Ontario anglers: the 2020 Ontario Fishing Regulations came into effect January 1. British Columbia’s Freshwater Fishing Regulations came into effect in 2019 and will remain in place until March 31, 2021, and you can always check the sport fishing guide by region here. Nova Scotia’s latest handbook and summary of regulations is available online, with a list of proposed changes for the upcoming season. Newfoundland and Labrador’s angler’s guide 2019-2020 is here!

West Kelowna RCMP are hoping to reunite a sailboat with its owners. The ice-covered boat was found leaning against a retaining wall on the shore of Okanagan Lake, but the Mounties have been unable to find its owner thus far.

A UBC professor and Arctic expert is calling for more search and rescue presence in Canada’s remote north, suggesting offshore patrol ships slated for the Arctic go to the east and west coasts instead.
