October 2015

On Saturday the 10th of October 2015, my sailboat lost its mooring and drifted onto a rocky shore.  The following morning we had her hauled off and returned to her mooring, however, her rudder gear was damaged and the bilge pump system wasn’t functioning properly.  I was able to find the C-Tow website and ended up speaking with Mr. White on Monday and arranged to have her towed from her mooring to “Shinning Waters Marine” in St-Margaret’s Bay, N.S., a distance of approximately 20 KMs.

From the very beginning, Mr. White displayed a very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and courteous attitude.  When he and his colleague arrived on scene, they quickly accessed the situation and determined that the rudder had to be repaired in order to be able to tow my sailboat.  Mr. White carried out a temporary repair while his colleague repaired the bilge pump system that effectively allowed us to carry on.

I highly recommend Mr. Don White and C-Tow to anyone in need of a tow or emergency repairs of their vessel.

Dear C-Tow

As one of your newest members, I thought I should share a story.  My wife and I picked up our (new to us) sailboat in Anacortes, WA to sail it home to the Sunshine Coast.  Despite assurances that the boat had a full service in the spring, we encountered engine troubles near Steveston, B.C.  I was embarrassed to have to phone for assistance, but Glen from Steveston arrived and saved the day.

I want you to know Glen was fast, courteous and professional in every way.  He not only got us to a safe dock, he also offered to drive me to a business for the necessary parts.  In addition to this, he called later to advise us of a mechanic that would be willing to help us on the weekend.  This was truly unexpected and you should know that Glen is a true and great asset to your organization.  He was amazing in every way!

Thanks for a great experience, that we don't plan to ever use again, but we will be members for as long as we own our boat!

Thank you,

Thank you for the assistance last night.

The guy who helped us out last night was excellent - I was totally impressed by his skills in maneuvering our boat around. And I thought he went above and beyond by helping me get the boat into Canoe Cove. Made for a happy ending to a pretty miserable situation.

In February we purchased the Admirals Package and that has been the best $200.00 we have ever spent. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I had the misfortune of having transmission issues and couldn’t go forward or back and were stuck in Montague Harbour on Galliano Island. We contacted the C-Tow dispatcher who was very friendly and accommodating and scheduled a day and time for a tow. The night before we received a phone call and email letting us know that Dan and Marlene will be arriving at 9:00am – and they did - right on time. Dan and Marlene were professional, friendly, very capable and everything went as smooth as silk – even docking us at Westport marina.

We cannot thank you enough for your service and we will definitely become long time members of C-Tow.

Dear C-Tow
I want to thank you ever so much in sending Captain Erik to assist us with getting our sailboat out of the mud in Burrard inlet yesterday.
You were most helpful in attaining pertinent information from our insurance provider for us. When Erik arrived on the scene he immediately took charge and helped ease our anxiety.  He demonstrated knowledge, skill and empathy towards our situation. We enjoyed the time spent with him despite the unfortunate predicament.
Please forward our sincere appreciation.

Mr.Andy Cardiff, C-Tow Marine Assistance Ltd.

Dear Mr. Cardiff,

We are writing to thank you for the quick response we received from C-Tow when our 34' sailboat Maren became incapacitated on Friday August 19, 2011 off Galiano Island.

In our opinion, the C-tow captain did everything he could to help repair our vessel and help us get on our way. When after his considerable efforts failed, the C-tow captain towed us to the marina at Ganges on Salt Spring Island and did not charge us for out first nght's accommodation. Furthermore, he called several diesel mechanics and actually got a mechanic to come to our boat at 08:00 p.m. on a Friday night. The mechanic was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and, after some effort we were able to leave Ganges on the Sunday morning and arrive safely home later that day.

We could not begin to express our thanks to C-Tow and the captain for everything they did for us and the manner in which they did it. It was very evident that the C-Tow captain was extremely busy yet he took the time to stop by and made sure that work on the engine was proceeding. Even though this was a stressful situation for us C-Tow made a real effort to help us and in doing so made sure that we enjoyed our stay at Ganges. We couldn't say enough nice things about how they helped us and we will make sure that our other boating friends know about the type of service that C-Tow contractors provide to customers.

Once again thank you and please pass our appreciation to the captain for the wonderful service we received.
